Dalton and Rachel came from the East to visit the Western City of Portland back in February. Heartbreaking vibes @ Wes and Steph that couldn't make it. We missed you both so much.
Upon their arrival they were craving "beef" so we took them immediately to Burgerville and spent a long time basking in the warmth and sharing stories of our youth
After Burgerville we spent a few hours in the comfort of Jenna's apartment watching Nicki Minaj, Kanye, and Drake videos. Bless.
Then we went for phở at some restaurant I forget the name of. Rachel poured our tea.
After that we had a sleepover and then woke up the next day and made brekkie since Jenna had to work.
We tried to find a cafe that had games but unfortunately our search led to a dead end, so we wandered Northeast for a while and saw some dogs, some flowers, had some coffee, went to Scrap, etc. It was a beautiful day.
Then we went to a gallery called Screaming Sky so we could look at some of Dalton's friend Lindsey's work and then we went to Powell's. :)
We found this incredible like, canon divergence of Pride & Prejudice that we giggled about but I can't remember specifics???? Something
Then we ate at the food carts and Rachel and Dalton experienced surprise spicy rice in their burritos.
After that we went to the best bridge in Portland, the St. Johns Bridge. It was still a lovely day and there were still many flowers and green grass and sunshine.

After that it was a bit of a flurry; we picked up Jenna and went to dinner with Sara June Woods and ate really good pizza and then I dropped them off again bc I had to pick up Catie Cutie from the airport bc her flight was early but then it was actually on time, then we picked up Matty from work and Dalton had forgotten his phone so we went to take it to him. Then we went home and went to bed.
The next morning us three Vernons went to Sound Grounds to get brekkie and coffee.
My lens/ viewfinder was all foggy bc it was very warm in Sound Grounds but chilly outside. These are v woowowoo
this bagel was so good. and so was the sandwich. and the smoothie. yom
And then we drove to the coast!!
Our first stop was the Peter Iredale shipwreck at Fort Stevens

Then we drove some more to Astoriaaaa. Catie and I both sat in the backseat :-)
We ate lunch at this place right by the water that was good
By this time it was just about sunset so we drove up to the Astoria Column which is essentially a lighthouse without a light that is on top of a mountain and beautiful

The next day we went to brunch at Jam
Then we walked around Hawthorne and eventually made our way to an Oscars viewing party at Sidestage in the mostly dark that bars usually have and thus no pics.
Rachel and Dalton left in the morning on very early flights, until next time, etc. god, what LOVE and BLESSINGS and JOY.
Catie and I spent most of Monday doing absolutely nothing except being best friends and then eventually went to see Big Hero Six at the Avalon
And then Catie left the next morning as well.
All in all a very successful summit full of many laughs and tears and meals and sights. Way up.
